Commissioners learned more about each other.
• HealthPoint Clinic Phase and Community Feedback 1— Sherry Williams
Commissioners received a presentation from guest Sherry Williams, HealthPoint Vice
President of Community Engagement and External Relations. They learned about the
planning and building of a new clinic on Tukwila International Boulevard. Ground
breaking is anticipated in the spring of 2026. A Phase 2 plan includes a community
center. See attached handouts for details. Commissioners offered support to reach
community members for further engagement opportunities.

About HealthPoint
For 53 years HealthPoint has been delivering quality health care tailored to the needs of underserved people.
Today, HealthPoint serves over 100,000 patients a year at our network of 19 clinics and school -based health
centers throughout King County. We are one of the state's largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
providers and a vital community safety net.
HealthPoint serves many of our region's most vulnerable, including very low income, uninsured, disabled,
immigrant, unhoused, and refugee communities. No one is turned away due to inability to pay.
Culturally appropriate and patient -centered care is provided in 70+ languages to a patient base where the
majority are best helped in languages other than English. Our clinicians, providers and care support staff
reflect the diversity of our patient base and 67% of staff are people of color.
Our industry -leading programs and unique health care home model reduces health disparities. Providers
and care teams work collaboratively to provide integrated primary, preventative, and wrap around services.

Phase 2 Impact
HealthPoint is currently surveying options for the best complementary services and spaces to add to our collaborative
campus. Opportunities being evaluated are prioritized needs surfaced during an extensive community needs study.
They include:
• Community Center
• Flexible service space for nonprofit providers
• Community gathering rooms and areas
• Innovation and education training areas
• International small business marketplace and incubator
HealthPoint will construct and own the Phase 2 building, with the space and programming to be operated by skilled,
specialized nonprofit partners.

• U.S. Treasury Opportunity Zone classification due to lower median income, higher poverty rate,
and more hurdles to opportunity
• Incredibly diverse; over 70% people of color and 52% speak a language other than English at home
• Home to many refugee and immigrant communities, as well as residents with multi -generational roots

- Nearly triple the rate of residents in 'fair or poor health' (30%)
- More than double the rate of uninsured residents (17%)

CAPITAL PROJECT
Building on a 53-year track record of regional impact, HealthPoint is taking bolder action than ever before. We are
evolving from an organization that delivers quality healthcare at standalone clinics to an organization that delivers
quality healthcare alongside other complementary and collaborative services.
This novel, industry -leading integration model acknowledges that to truly strengthen the health and wellbeing of
patients and communities, you must meet a myriad of interconnected needs. Unlike any other space we've created
—built hand -in -hand with the community—theTukwila Health &Wellness Center will be so much more than a clinic.
It will be an anchor for community health: a bustling campus where people come to not just access essential services
in one place, but to connect with the community and one another.
Phase 1 Delivers
Expanded HealthPoint clinic
• One -stop -shop for culturally appropriate medical, dental,
behavioral health, naturopathic care, substance abuse
treatment and pharmacy, among other expanded services
• Double the number of patients served at existing Tukwila
clinic (a small, leased location currently at capacity)
• Social service integration including case management
and resource navigation
• Integrated tech for better language translation
Early childhood development center/childcare
• Fills critical gap with high -quality, subsidized care for birth to
pre -kindergarten in this area designated as a "child care desert"
To be operated by the YMCA
Reserved space for future acute care buildout
• Once open, expanded hours in HealthPoint's acute care
center will provide flexible visit times for working families
and save funds for both patients and government through
reduced emergency room visits
Flexible 3rd floor for future programming expansion
