CfitaititatVIIMOM SISTER CITY VISIT Again, the City was honored by a visit from cit- izens of our Sister City, Ikawa, Japan. The group of thirty-four arrived November 6, 1981. There were twenty-nine ninth grade students, one city council member, three representativies from City Hall, three from the school district, one newspaper- man, one TV station employee and two travel agents. They were greeted at City Hall by the Foster High School Band, cheerleaders, girl scouts with banners and welcomed by Tukwila Citizens and host families. Z ,f ift The weekend was a whirlwind of activities --welcome at Southcenter Shoping Center; lunch at St. Michelle Winery or Showalter Middle School; visit to the Kingdome; Daybreak Indian Cultural Center for dinnc Seattle Aquarium and Science Center; Banquet at the Marriott. Our guests were delayed by fog on Monday morning so the visit continued seven hours longer than planned. Each visit from citizens of our Sister City is special and, as our friends depart, we assess the schedule of events and start planning for their next visit. EMERGENCY CURB ADDRESS By Robert Conner The Tukwila Police Department with the help of their Explorer Post #999 painted house numbers on the sidewalk curbs. The project is directed towards emer- gency vehicles being able to quickly locate an address in answering an assistance for police, fire, or aid calls. The project is coordinated thru your Community Crime Prevention Office. One October 10-24 the Tukwila Police Department Explorer Post canvassed the city contacting citizens and advising them of the program. The post was asking for contributions for the address painting so they could participate in activities with other police explorer posts within the area. The contribution is not neccessary. If the citizen wants the address painted it will be painted. All contributions are considered a gift and greatly appreciated. Shortly after the first of the new year the explorer post will be out in the neighorhood to contact citizens that were not available during October. If you wish your address painted sooner please contact Officer Robert Conner of your Community Crime Prevention Unit, phone 433-1822. r TELL IT TO THE CITY This form is for your use.
