ADVISORY COUNCIL The regular: meeting of the Citizen's .Kdvisory Council was called to order at 8:1.0 pm by ;the Chairman Rudy Regel. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved as read. The other speakers included Mr. J.H. Clawson, President of Puget Power;: who gave credit to Tukwila leaders and pledged to help devel- op the industrial payroll of the area, and Mr. William Bugge, Nara ington Director of Highways, who spoke for the State in the ab- sence of Governor Rosellini , thanking General Electric for . their vision and faith in the State of 'Washington. Mr. Bugge also accepted the challenge of getting the freeway' through as soon as possible and stated the " cast -west interchange construct ion would begin in the fall. •• Mr. C. C. :talker,, Regional Vice- President for General Electric, stated that the new plant would offer improved electrical appli- ance service to this community and,the 67 million dollar General Electric payroll in the northwest would increase with new `job oppor- tunity.:The annual payroll of the new plant was estimated to be one and a half million dollars.
