Mayor McLeod called the IRegular Meeting or the Tukwila City Council to order at 7:00 p,m, and Ied the
audience in the Pledge of Allegiance,
ROLL CALL
Andy Youn-Barnett, City Clerk, called the roll of the Councit Present at the meeting were Councilmembers
Tashi Sharp (on -site), Mohamed Abdi (on -site), Armen Papyan (on -site), Dennis Martinez on -site), Hannah
Hedrick (on -site); and Verna Seal (on -site)„
MOVED BY MARTINEZ, SECONDED BY ABDI TO EXCUSE THE ABSENCE OF COUNCILMEMBER
MCCONNELL. MOTION CARRIED 6-0.
LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Councilimember Hedrick stated "The City of Tukwila is iocated on the ancestral lands of the Coast Sallish
people We acknowledge their continuing connections to land, waters and culture We pay our respects to

1, Peggy McCarthy shared that the Tukvvila Historical Society was awarded a grant from 4Culture to
help preserve historical collections.
2 Receipt of an email received June 2, 2025 and distributed to the City Council, relating to item 5,d,
an ordinance amending TMC 14 19, "'Sewer Connections — Preliminary Plat of Tukwila South,"
PRESENTATIONS
a, Introduction of "'Tukwila, City of Opportunity" Scholarship Recipients.
The scholarship awardees on attendance introduced themselves and outlined their edlucational and career
plans

b. Promotional Swearing in of Police Sergeant Dakota Hodgson'. (per agenda a endment)
Mayor McLeod administered the Oath of Office to Police Sergeant Dakota Hodgson.
c. King County Long-term Disposal Study Results,
Rebecca Singer, Division Director, and Pay Liu from King County Solid Waste provided an overview of
the Long-term Disposal Study, disposal optiors, takeaways, and next steps.

a. Mayor
Mayor McLeod shared Jen Tetatzin has accepted the offer of employment as the City's new Public Works
Director pending. Council confimiation at the June 0, 2025. Special Meeting. He participated in the launch
of the Tukwila. Promise at Foster High School on May 28,, 2025 and the groundbreaking event for the new
HealthPoint Tukwila Commons project on May 31, 2025.
h. City Council
Councilmen -ter Abdi attended the launch of the Tukwila Promise at Foster High School on May 28,, 2025
and shared he was invited to speak to students at Foster High School, regarding 'civic engagement,
Courcilmember Papyan attended the launch of the Tukwila Promise at Foster High School an May 28,
2025 and the groundbreaking event for the new HealthPoint Tukwila Commons project on May 31, 2025,
He met with the State Auditor's, Office regarding risk assessments for Tukwila.
Courcilmember Martnez attended a South County Area Transportation Board (SCATBd) meeting on May
20, 2025, and a Puget Sound Fire Governance Board meeting on May 21, 2025, He shared Fire Chief
rian Carson of the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority will be retiring on October 1, 2025, He also
attended the Puget Sound Regional Council's General Assembly on May 22, 2025, the Tukwila Promise
launch event at Foster High Schoolon May 28, 2025, and the groundbreaking event for the new
HealthPoint Tukwila Commons project on May 31, 2025.
Courcilme,mber Hedrick attended the 'Tukwila Promise launch event at Foster High School on May 28,
2025 and shared this year there are double the number of seniors attending Hipline College as last year
showing the impact of Tukwila Promise.. She relayed the City has recently updated the website for the
42" Avenue Bridge South Replacement, Project with funding information and a project status update,
Councilmemb,er Seal attended the Puget Sound Fire Governance oard meeting on May 21, 2025. She
provided background on the historical events that led up to the groundbreaking event for the HealthPoint
Tukwila Commons project
c. Staff
Marty Wine, City Administrator, referenced the City Administrator's Report in the agenda packet.
