National Night Out is a chance for neighbors to get to know each other, their local police officers, elected officials and other first responders that participate in National Night Out. It's basically a fun neighborhood block party hosted by the community. If you're willing to host a National Night Out party for your neighborhood on Tuesday, August 5th from 5pm - 8pm at your house, apartment complex or business, please email Officer Masters at v.masters@tukwilawa.go4 or send Tukwila PD a private message on social media. Please include your name, address of your party and contact information. The deadline to register is July 25th. Movies in the Park & Evening Concert Series Fridays, 7pm to 11 pm Tukwila Community Center Enjoy music from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Movies will begin shortly after sunset (8:30 p.m.) Friday, August 8, 7 p.m. —11 p.m. School of Rock — Movie & House Band Join us for an evening jam session! The School of Rock House Band will start the evening at 7 p.m. These 18-and-under musicians will rock the playfield at the Tukwila Community Center and wow attendees with their musical chops! Once the sun sets, Jack Black and crew will take over. School of Rock (the movie) will hit the silver screen at 8:30 p.m., officially launching our summer movie series! Friday, August 22, 7 p.m. —11 p.m. The Princess Bride Movie and The Sh80s Join us for our second Movie in the Park! We will kick off the evening with music from the Sh80s. The Sh80s provide the jams that keep you moving, everything from New Wave, Hair Metal, Synth -Pop to Hip Hop. Once the sun sets, we'll take in the 80s classic The Princess Bride. Come along for the exciting story of Westley, a farmhand who leaves to seek his fortune after falling in love with Buttercup. He's presumed dead, and Buttercup is kidnapped by outlaws at the orders of Prince Humperdinck. Westley, now the Dread Pirate Roberts, embarks on a journey to rescue Buttercup and confront the prince, encountering various obstacles and allies along the way. ■ 1 Touch -A -Truck Saturday, August 23, 11 a.m. —2 p.m. Westfield Southcenter Mall This truck show brings together a collection of government trucks for all to see. Fulfill your childhood dream and get an up close and personal look at some of the amazing vehicles that keep our city running. It's a great opportunity to learn more about how each vehicle operates and to inspire kids who look up to the people who drive them.
