SUBJECT: Agreement for Special Work: Background Investigations and Range Instruction
The following is an agreement between Larry Hann, retired Tukwila Police Department Detective ("Contractor"),
to complete background investigations and assist with range instruction on an hourly, as needed basis for the
Police Department of the City of Tukwila ("City") (collectively, the Contractor and City are referred to as "the
Parties").
The Parties agree to the following terms —
1. The rate of pay for services is $78.00 per hour for actual time and hours worked.
2. The Contractor is not a part of the Tukwila Police Officers Teamsters and is not subject to the labor
agreement agreed upon by and between the Tukwila Police Officers Teamsters and the City of Tukwila.
3. The Contractor shall not receive any additional benefits other than the hourly rate listed above.
4. The Contractor shall be required to pay any applicable income taxes or deductions as required by state
or federal law.
5. The Contractor shall be provided with a Police Department -issued laptop, cell phone, and purchasing
card to complete background investigations.
6. The Contractor shall also be provided access to applicable Police Department programs or software
needed to perform background investigations.
7. All hours worked will be recorded on a Police Department time sheet and managed by the Office of the
Deputy Chief of Police and the Finance Department of the City of Tukwila.
8. The duration of the temporary work assignment will be effective from 1/1/2025 through 12/31/2025,
or earlier, as determined by the Tukwila Police Department.
9. The Contractor agrees that this is an at -will arrangement, and his services may be terminated at any
time by either party, with or without cause, by giving notice to the other party in writing stating the
effective date of such termination. Notice by email to the Contractor's email address and to the City's
Chief of Police or Deputy Chief of Police fulfills the requirement that the notice be in writing. No salary
or benefits shall be due past the effective date of termination.
10. This Agreement contains the entire understanding between the Parties and supersedes all prior
agreements.
11. No promises or representations exist outside of this Agreement.
12. Modifications to this Agreement must be in writing and signed by both Parties.
13. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Jurisdiction and venue for any
dispute arising under this Agreement shall be in King County, Washington.
The Parties acknowledge agreement to the terms listed above upon signing and dating the agreement below.
