• Ice Breaker Activity to Continue to Get to Know One Another
Commissioners that attended the State of the City on April 2 shared their experience in
an event debrief. Ideas for the next event included outreach to diverse communities,
inviting food trucks, having ushers, and moving resource tables to avoid overcrowding
the hallway.
• Public Safety Update — Chief Eric Drever
Commissioners received information from Chief Drever and had an opportunity to ask
questions. The Chief discussed TPD's obligations as it pertains to assisting Immigration &
Customs Enforcement (ICE) as well as state and local laws that set parameters on the
relationship between local law enforcement and ICE. He emphasized the importance of
community members being able to call TPD for assistance without fear regardless of
immigration status. The Chief assured that to his knowledge, the regional ICE director
does not plan to initiate raids in spaces such as schools due to the danger of such
activities. The Chief also discussed the Use of Force Review Board and other efforts
