CaII to Order — Meeting called to order at 10:09am by Chair Terra Straight. 2. Approval of Agenda — Terra Straight moved to approve the March 21, 2024 meeting agenda. Julie Herdt seconded the motion. All in favor; motion carried. 3. Approval of Minutes — Terra Straight moved to approve the January 18, 2024 meeting minutes. Andrew Hays seconded the motion. All in favor; motion carried. 4. City Council Presentation: 2023 Human Services Overview — Stacy Hansen, Human Services Program Coordinator Stacy Hansen presented to City Council on Monday, March 18, 2024. Board members received a copy of the Powerpoint, infographic, and funding distribution list that accompanied the presentation. 5. 2024 Board Work Plan —All Members Board members presented possible funding cycle meeting dates for reviewing applications and decided on the working dates of June 13, June 20, July 11, July 18, August 1, August 8, and September 12. The August 15 board meeting will be canceled in lieu of other review dates. The board decided newly -funded agencies for the 2024-25 funding cycle will present during October and December meetings. 6. 2025-2026 Funding Cycle Discussion — Stacy Hansen, Human Services Program Coordinator Agencies new to Tukwila funding are meeting with Human Services staff prior to applying. Total annual budget for Human Services grants will likely remain the same in the next funding cycle. All 2023-24 funded programs have been performing at 100% of contracted goals. The rating tool will be reviewed at the May 16, 2024 meeting. Board members shared preferences for format of application packets. Human Services Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes Page 2 of 2 7. Information & Member Sharing —All Members Julie Herdt shared there are 371 elementary students in the Tukwila School District who are a part of the McKinney-Vento program. The district is facing budget cuts in the coming year. Andrew Hays shared that at present there is no federal support in response to the humanitarian crisis in Tukwila. Pastor Jan Bolerjack gave an update for the Riverton Park United Methodist Church campus. Capacity limits have been met, and families seeking asylum are being turned away without a place to go. Legal services are being offered, and 60 applications for asylum have been completed. A laundry space is needed. Wifi coverage is inconsistent on campus. 8.
