On February 10, 1904, the Riverton Post Office opens. Samuel D. Goff serves as the only postmaster. Mail is
distrubuted from the corner of Goff's general store. On April 30, 1907, the post office closes. Riverton is located
nine miles south of Seattle two miles south of Tukwila near the Duwamish River along the Tacoma Interurban line.
