1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:02PM

a. Board Members:
• Present: Steve Miller, Marie Parrish, Gerie Ventura, Robin Boland, Cynthia Chesak,
Verna Seal
• Absent: Crystal Lyons
b. Staff:
• City of Tukwila Staff: Doreen Deaver, Recreation Coordinator
• King County Library System Staff: Steven Bailey, Library Services Manager
3. Land Acknowledgement — Steve Miller read the land acknowledgement:

4. Approval of Agenda and Minutes — July 1, 2025
a. Agenda: Robin Boland motioned to approve the agenda. Gerie Ventura seconded the motion to
approve the agenda; all were in favor.
b. Minutes: Verna Seal motioned to approve the minutes. Robin Boland seconded the motion to
approve the minutes; all were in favor.

6. Unfinished Business
a. 2024 council presentation review — Verna Seal provided a summary of the presentation to
council.

b. Little Library painting reschedule —The Board discussed and decided on September 6th to meet
and do the painting. The meet at TCC and will split into 2 teams to do the work.
7. New Business
a. Fall Carnival Support and participation —The board discussed providing books again to give out.
8. Staff Reports
a. KCLS: Staff provided updates on the upcoming activities at the library.
b. City of Tukwila: Doreen Deaver provided an update on City and Parks and Recreation events,
programs and other information.
