Dear Stacy Hansen & the City of Tukwila,
After-School All-Stars Puget Sound
Its with a heavy heart that our organization, , will
be terminating our contract with the City of Tukwila for the Human Services grant.
In July of 2025, the Chief of Schools at Tukwila School District informed us that the
school district selected another provider/organization for their after-school
programming (to include in a federal grant), which prevented our organization from
further providing our programs and services for the 2025-2026 school year. We have
operated our programs to students at Showalter Middle School since February of 2019
(over six years) and were disappointed to receive news of that decision by the school
district.
Please Note: Our final report will be submitted in October for Quarter 3 (July-
September), as we provided our summer program at Showalter Middle School through
the July 2025.
We had all intentions of carrying out our contract and agreement with the City of
Tukwila through 2026, but unfortunately, this decision was out of our hands.
We hope to have the opportunity to return our programs and services to Tukwila in the
future. We thank you for awarding our organization with Human Services funding over
the years and sincerely appreciate your support of our mission to provide free
comprehensive after-school and summer programs that keep youth safe and help
them to succeed in school and in life.
