Key Focus Areas • Events • Destination Development • Economic Development • Marketing N co Part 1— Community Based Celebrations- Lead: Parks & Recreation Focus: Tukwila and King County residents — within a 10-minute drive or easy transit access from the City. Goal: Inclusive, community -centered programming that inspires regional pride and celebrates connection through culture and play —centered around Tukwila International Boulevard and the Tukwila Community Center. Part 2 — Regional Destination- Lead: Swift Focus: Visitors & overnight tourists. Goal: Attract regional/national visitors, drive economic impact, highlight Tukwila as a regional destination within the Southcenter District Part 3- Third Party ( Non -City Hosted Events) Overview- Community Events (10-minute drive from the City) In anticipation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and building on Tukwila's identity as a hub of international culture and soccer passion, the Tukwila United initiative is a bold and community -forward program designed to celebrate soccer, culture, and community. Planned activities include: . Youth soccer clinics and equipment giveaways . A local "Tuk Cup" youth soccer tournament . FIFA e-sports tournaments for youth, teens, and adults . City -hosted kickoff and watch parties Together, these events foster meaningful engagement for Tukwila residents, ensuring every child and family have a chance to connect with the World Cup experience.
