Chair Hedrick called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
BUSINESS AGENDA
A. Resolution: Hearing Examiner Appointment
Staff is seeking approval of a resolution ratifying the appointment of the Hearing Examiner and
eliminating the need for a resolution in addition to a contract to streamline future
appointments.
Committee Recommendation
Unanimous approval. Forward to November 17, 2025 Regular Consent Agenda.
B. Tenant Protection Update
Committee members and staff discussed the implementation of House Bill 1217, which
strengthened certain protections in the Residential Landlord -Tenant Act.
Item(s) for follow-up:
• Help promote information to Tukwila residents and landlords.
• Obtain any updates on related litigation.
• Seek out state data around enforcement/complaints.
• Brief Councilmember Camacho on previous draft local ordinance.
