Did you know? ► Trauma cases spike significantly this time ofyear. With rising numbers in motor accidents and other incidents, our activities can increase the demand for donated blood. P. Summer is a super busy time for everyone. Summer activities —vacation, travel, out-of-town guests and more —can some- times prevent donors from stopping by to donate blood. Fewer people donate while our region's trauma centers experience an increase in people needing emergency care. The need for blood is constant, andyour donation is essential to trauma care, as well as other emergency situations, surgeries, cancer treatments, organ transplants, childbirth, and other medical procedures. And speaking of a Discover Pass: Starting October i, 2025, the cost of an annual Discover Pass will increase from $30 to $45. (This increase was passed by the Legislature in April.) Need to get rid of some old paint? On September z7, Tukwila will host another of its popular paint collection events. Eligible customers can have the discount applied by showing a current ProviderOne, EBT or ORCA LIFT card upon entering and exiting the facility. King County's CleanUp LIFT discount saves $18 off the cost of each type of waste, each visit. That includes: Garbage • Yard waste • Clean wood Mattresses • Appliances This program is available at the Bow Lake Recycling and Transfer Station, 18800 Orillia Road South in Tukwila. Fees for disposal are normally: Garbage - $36 for up to 32o pounds Yard waste - $18 for up to 32o pounds Clean wood - $18 for up to 32o pounds Mattresses - $3o per item Appliances - $3o per refrigerated appliance Questions?
