How can
the City better
connect with you?
Throughout the year, the
City shares a wide variety
of events, activities,
notices, and community
updates with Tukwila residents. To reach as many people
as possible, we use multiple communication channels —
from printed materials to digital tools. As social media
and online platforms continue to evolve, we are always
looking for new and better ways to stay connected with our
community.
Effective communication is essential to strong community
engagement, and we want to ensure we're meetingyour
needs. That's why we're launching a short survey to learn
how you prefer to receive information from the City.
Do you read the Hazelnut? Are our social media channels
where you get most of your updates? n
Do you check our website for
information? How do you usually
learn about City projects, programs
and services?

We invite all Tukwila community members to share their
input. Please take a moment to complete the survey and
let us know your preferred mode of communication and

Improving access to City laws --
new online Tukwila Municipal Code
The City of Tukwila's Municipal Code (TMC (is the official
compilation of City laws and regulations. Beginning
with laws passed in s 88, ordinances and their amending
updates are consolidated into this large reference
document.
To improve public access and ease of use, the previous
online PDF version has been replaced with an interactive
and user-friendly resource available online. You can see
it at ecode36o.com/TU6 48.
Some highlights of the increased functionality:
Navigation:
The dynamic Table of Contents helps navigate to your
specific area of interest, moving with you to prevent
getting lost in the code".
For quick searches, you can use the search bar at the top
of the screen.
A new enhanced Index allows for subject -focused
searches and is organized alphabetically. For example, if
you have a question about chickens or roosters, you can
navigate to the letter A," then to Animals" in the index
to view all portions of the Code related to animals.
Accessiblity:
The online platform enables translation into more than
200 languages. You can quickly switch to the language
of your choice using the Google Translate feature located
at the bottom of the browser.
This new format allows for greater ADA compliance with
accessibility standards including sufficient color contrast,
keyboard navigation, screen reader support, and more.
You can easily share portions of the code by printing or
emailing.
Real time updates
You can sign up for automatic notifications by email
when the TMC or specific portions of the code are
updated.
A gavel icon shown next to a Title indicates a new law
that has been passed but not yet incorporated into the
Code.
For additional information regarding the new online
platform or code updates, please contact the City Clerk's
Office by email at TukwilaCityClerk@TukwilaWA.gov or
