The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor,J.P.Walkup,
at 8 P.M. Councilmen present were A.W.Thies, Elmer Wootan
and Joe Aliment.
The minutes of the December meeting were read and
approved as corrected.
Current Bills were read and upon motion ordered paid.

The Treas. report was read and accepted.
The report of the Water Dept. was read and placed on
file.
Councilman A.R.Carstensen arrived at this time.
Mayor Walkup reported the State Development Board had
approved the request of the Town for matching funds as
set forth in Ordinance #169. It was moved and carried the
Clerk write a letter to C.0.Mannes,County Engineer,thank-
ing him for the consideration he gave the Town inaiding
us in securing funds from the Development Board.
The Street Committee reported completion of the culvert
under the Highway.
Mr.Thies reported one building permit issued during
December,
Mr.Aliment reported the culvert open under the Puget
Sound Power Light Co.right of way,thus damaging the property
of Mr.Eddy.He recommended the Council look into the matter,
with a plan of draining this water into the river. Mr.Jewell
was recognized and suggested the parties interested get
together and devise a plan to drain this water.
It was moved and carried the Council call a special
meeting to discuss the water situation, with all affected
present. The date for this meeting was set for Jan.14,at
8 P.M.
The Street Supt. was asked to inspect the parking at
the White House.
It was moved and carried the Highwaybthrough the Town
be a 35 mile zone,excepting in front of the stores.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30.
