The regular mweting of the Town Council of the Town
of Tukwila was called to order by the u'ayor,J.P.Walkup,
at 8 P.M. Councilmen present were A.W.Thies, A.R.
Carstensen, Elmer Wootan and Joe Aliment.
The minutes of the March meeting were read and app-
roved as read.
The Mayor invited the newly elected mayor,Mr.C.Q.
Baker, and the Councilmen elect, Mr.L'.P.Lutes and Mr.
A.H.Heemink to sit at the Council table with the other
members of the Town Council.
Current bills were read and upon motion ordered
paid.

Report of the Water Dept.was read and placed on
file The report of the Treas.was read and accepted.
Notice of a hearing relative to raising rate of the
Gas Co.was read.
The resignation of A.W.Thies,councilman,was read
and upon motion accepted with regrets. Stan Minkler was
wiected to fill the vacancy.
A letter from the State Dept. of Hiways was read,
relative to additional work hence additional pay they
are asking for the construction of the culvert under the
Highway. It was moved and carried the Clerk write to the
Dept.of Highways stating the Council feels the estimate
made by the State Dept. is in full payment of work done
and regret the Dept.continues to find bills.
Moved and carried the Mayor be sent to the convent-
ion of Washington Cities at Port Angeles, and that a sum
not to exceed 0100.00 be allowed for expenses.
M of Street committee,was asked
to secure Mr.Manas as Consulting Engineer for the Street
Development and Drainage Project.
The Clerk introduced Mrs.Carl Bruce,Dist.Chairman
of the Girl Scouts, who presented to the Council the pro-
posed plan for Day and Overnight Camps to be held in
Tukwila Park this summer.. The dates are July 7 to 17 in-
clusive. The Council voiced approval and co- operation.
Mr.Wiese asked a means to enter property he has
bought in the town. Council promised to locate a street.
Mr.Mettler asked if there was any objection to his
constructing a cement retaining wall in place of a rock
wall joining the sidewalk along his property. No objection.

He also asked if it were permissible to extend the cement
sidewalk to the property line. No objection.
