HomeMy WebLinkAbout1947-05-05 Regular MinutesThe regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor, J.P.Walkup, at 8 P.M. Councilmen present were S.D.Minkler, M.O.Chelette, Elmer Wootan and Joe Aliment. The Mayor invited the new- ly elected mayor, Mr.C.O.Baker and the Councilmen elect, Mr.A.H.Heemink and Mr.B.P.Lutes to sit at the Council table. The minutes of the April meeting were read and approved as read. A letter from the District Engineer of the State 'epart- ment of Highways was read.. requesting the Town authorize an additional allotment of for work done by the State. No action was taken. A letter from the Renton Recreation Council,requesting permission to use Tukwila Park as a Day Camp. the Park is in use every day this request was denied. A letter from Wm.Sears,County Commissioner,thanking the Fire Dept.for aid at the fire at the county shops, was read. The Clerk was instructed to write Mr.Sears stating the Town Fire Dept. is glad to assist at any time. It was moved and carried the bill of Dr.Vukov for injur- ies to L.H.Eggers waffle at a fire be paid by the Town. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. Current Expense State Lumber Co.,paint and supplies Fire Dept. 29.32 Volunteer Fire Dept.,reimburse for fog nozzle 10.30 Lois T.Newton,salary April 46.37 Current Water Rockwell Manuf.Co. meters 50.49 Rockwell Manuf.Co. meters 50.4.9 Marckmann Williams,pressure regulars 31.33 Lewis H.Eggers, salary April 100.00 Lois T.Newton, salary April expense 27.63 Trick Murray,sheets for consumer ledger 13.77 Current Street Lewis H.Eggers, salary April expense 76.55 Puget Sound Bridge Dredging, Co.,crushed rock 4.99 Tukwila Garage, repair of mower 4.64 Treasurer's report was read and accepted. The report of the Water Dept. was read and placed on fmle.. Mr.Minkler reported 3 building permits issued in April. It was moved and carried Mr. Carstensen as well as the Mayor represent the Town at the Convention of Washington Cities The expenses of both be covered by the :,100.00 allowed. The Clerk was instructed to write to the State Division of Purchasing of War Surplus goods asking prices of equipment needed by the Fire tept. Meeting adjourned at 9.-20.
