Industries,insurance 3 mo. Tukwila Garage, gas June July 7,1947 The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor, Charles O. Baker, at 3 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, Joe Aliment, Marvin Chelette, A.H.Tieemink and.P.Lutes. The minutes of the June meeting were read and approved as read. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. The report of the Treas. was read and accepted. The Clerk read a letter from the Association of 4aashin ton Cities asking for preference as to city in which regional meet- ing should be held and approximate date most convenient. It was moved and carried4uburn be the city and the 1st. Tues. in Oct. the date to be recommended. In answer to a request sent out by Mr.Cady, Supt.of School Dist 406 the Mayor appointed S. ±.Hacnicli, R.E.Latimer and Mrs.B.P.Lutes on the Educational Committee. A letter from Mr.Shearer relative to the work done by the State for the Town was read. The Mayor offered to get a legal opinion on the matter. Ordinance 170,a meat and restaurant Inspection ordinance was upon motion, placed on its first reading. One bid on the Street Drainage Project was received and opened. It was,upon motion, rejected as much too high. Mr. Mannes, the engineer was erquested to readvertise for bids to be ppened at the regular meeting on August 4th. Mr.Warnell, Chairman of the Dist.Recreation Council, was introduced and spoke of the plans 66r a Community Center. Mr.Minkler reported 2 building permits issued. in July. Moved and carried tents be not allowed as dwellings. Mr.Wiese asked what the Town would about locating a street to his property.
