The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of
Tukwila.was called to order by the Mayor, Chas.O.Baker, at 8 P.M.
Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, Joe Aliment, Marvin Chelette,
A.H.Heemink and B.P.Lutes.
The minutes or the August meeting were read and approved as
corrected.
Mr.Hill, from the office of Watt C. Griffin Associates,
discussed with the Council the proposed paving of 58th.Ave.So.
It was moved and carried to advertise for bids for this work,bids
to be opened at a special meeting on Sept.18, at 8 P.M.
Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid.

The report of the Water Dept. was read and placed on file.
Mr.Minkler reported three building permits issued in August.
Request for a continuation of water main on 55th.Ave. 5 o. was
made. The Water Committee was asked to look into it.
Upon motion, Ordinance 1171 was placed on its second reading
by title only. Upon motion rdinance 171 was placed on its 3rd.
reading and final passage.
Mr. Aliment was asked to:'investigate the matter of pinball
machines within the Town limits, also to find out where liquor is
sold since there ;;are Town ordinances covering each.
The Clerk was asked to write to the State Highway Dept., re-
questing a manually operated Stop light at the intersection of
Secondary Highway No.5 -M and 58th.Ave.So.,and approach signs,since
this is a school crossing.
The preliminary Budget for the year of 1948 was drawn up,
and upon motion placed on its first reading.
Meeting adjourned at 10 :15.
