HomeMy WebLinkAbout1947-10-06 Regular MinutesOctober 6, 1947 The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker,at 8 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, Joe Aliment, Marvin Chelette, A.H.Heemink and B.P.Lutes. The minutes of the September meeting were read and app- roved as read. of minutes of the special meeting of Sept. 18 were read and approved as read. Mr. Don Pollack presented to the Council a plan of lia- bility Insurance for the Town. Mr. Aliment was asked to look into the matter. A letter from the State Highway Department, regarding the request for manually operated signs, was read. They.:felt such a sign would be a serious accident pattern but promised to stripe the school crossing. A letter from DeWitt C. Griffin Associates was read, giv- ing a final estimate of the cost for the construction of asphalt paving on 5Sth.Ave.So. by the Washington Asphalt Co. This esti- mate was 02,418.00. It was moved and carried this work be accept., ed. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. Mr. Minkler reported four building permits issued during September. The Clerk was requested to write the Gas Co.,telling them to repair immediately the asphalt paving their workmen tore up. Ordinance 172,the bugget for 1948, was, upon motion, placed on it's second reading by title only. Upon motion, Ordinance 172 was placed on it's third reading and final passage.
