HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-03-01 Regular MinutesMarch 1,1943 The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor, Chas.O. Baker, at 8 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, Joe Aliment, A.H.Heemink, Vic North and Burton Lutes. The minutes of the February meeting were read and approved as read. A letter from Mr. E.B.Hoffman of Seattle City Light Co. was read. Mr.Hoffman stated the City of Seattle in negotiating for the properties of Puget Sound Power and Light Co. were not in- cluding The Town of Tukwila. Mayor Baker's reply, stating the Town was giving the matter careful consideration, was also read. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. The Treasurer's report was read and accepted. The report of the water dept. was read and placed on file. Mr. Minkler reported two building permits issued in February. Ordinance 180 was placed on its second reading, by title only. Ordinance was, upon motion, placed on its third reading and final passage. Ordinance 181 was, upon motion, placed on its second reading by title only. Upon motion, Ordinance 181 was placed on its third reading and final passage. Itswas moved and carried the Clerk write Commissioner Sears, thanking him for the work his men did along the river within the limits of the Town of Tukwila. It was moved and carried the Clerk contact the Telephone Co. telling them we plan to renew the franchise The Clerk was requested to ask the County Assessor if he would like a record of building permits issued by the Town. It was moved and carried a Special meeting be called for Mar. 12, at 8 P.M., to talk over the need of replacing certain water mains. Also to discuss Insurance needs of the Towm..
