Tukwila was called tp order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at
8 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, Joe Aliment,A.H.
Heemink, Vic North and B.P.Lutes.
The minutes of the regular April meeting were read and ap-
proVed as read. The minutes of the Special meeying of April 13
were read and approved as read.
The Insurance policy with the General Casualty Insurance
company of America for a blanket coverage for the Town, with an
manual premium of $245.00, was accepted. Stan Minkler, Joe Aliment
Vic North and B.P.Lutes voting aye, and A.H.Heemink voting no.
A letter from Mr. Durbin, regarding a bulkhead near his pro-
perty, was read. Mr. Aliment, Heemink and Lutes were appointed to
investigate and bring back a report.
A letter of resignation from Mr, Eggers,Street and Water
Superintendant, was read and upon motion, accepted. The Mayor ap-
pointed Mr.A.H.Warren to fill this vacancy.
A letter from Paul Braun of the Washington Survey and Rating
Bureau was read. He stated it is not required to have a deputy
Sheriff among members of a volunteer Fire Dept.
A letter from the office of the Supt. of School Dist.#406,
regarding a petition to divide the school dist., was read. It was
moved and carried the clerk draw up a resolution showing the Town
of Tukwila as being opposed to such a division, said resolution to
be forwarded to the office of L.M.Dimmitt, County Supt. of Schools.
Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid.

It was moved and carried the Treasurer's bond be increased
from $1000.00 to $2000.00.
The water report was read and placed on file.

Mr. Minkler reported 4 building permits issued in April.
Mayor Baker reported t2..00 collected for the Red Cross
in the Town of Tukwila.

Town will pay for the gas. It was moved and carried about
$2.00 per week for gasnbe allowed for a trial period of 6 months,
11r. Warren making a record of milage.

The Clerk was requested to Superior Concrete Products Co.
cerning highway posts.
The Street Supt. made a request for a portable gas pump.
The clerk was asked to contact Polson Implement Co. concerning
same.
Mr. Warren and Mrs. Hamilton asked permission to build a
road through property they own.
Therewas a discussion of the possibility of the Fire Dept.
furnishing protection to property outside Town. Mr.Minkler,Mr.
Aliment and Mr. North were appointed to investigate and bring
back a report.
Mr. North presented needs of the Fire tept.
The Mayor appointed Walt Hoefling, Mr. Gott, Mrs. uamilton
and Mrs. Warren a committee to plan for the recreation and clean-
ing of Tukwila Park. June 6 was set as the day to clean up the
park, meeting at ten A.M. with a pot luck dinner for the entire
community.
