HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-07-06 Regular MinutesJuly 6,1948 The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 8 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, Vic North and A.H.Heemink. The minutes of the meeting of June 7 were read and approved as reed. The minutes of the Special meeting of June 23 were read and approved as read. A letter from H.C.Anderson, of the Golden Arrow Dairy,was read. He applied for admission of the Dairy,just outside the limits of the Town, by annexation. it was moved by Mr. ;Iinkler and seconded by Vic North that an oedinance be drawn up,admitt- ing the Dairy and vacating that portion of the Macadam road in rear of the Dairy. Motion carried. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. Current Expense Geo. Minkler moved and Mir. North seconded the motion that permission be granted.iviotion carried. 179 A letter from Mr. Morgan,requesting a license to operate a quarry within the Town of Tukwila, was read. It was moved and carried an Ordinance be drawn up regulating Rock Quarries. Mr. Minkler moved a Tempory License,under the same provisions of the proposed Ordinance, be granted for 60 days, at the end of which time a license be granted as requested to operate ;uarry. Mr. Minkler reported no building permits granted in June. Mr. Eggers requested use of the Town Hall for a pool table. Moved and carried permission be granted. Mr. Walt Hoefling requested permission to use Town Hall for meeting of the Tukwila Athletic Club, such meetings being held on the first Thursday of each month. It was moved and carried permission be. granted. Mr. Minkler called attention to the nedd of repairs on the catch basin near Mr. Leahy's barber shop. Mr. Warren, Street Supt was asked to make necessary repairs. Mr. Minkler moved a Special meeting be called for Tues.,July 13, at BP.M. for the purpose of drawing up an ordinance annexing the Golden Arrow Dairy,also to discuss problems of the Street and water departments.
