The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila
was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Laker, at 3 Y.'.
Councilmen present were Stan. Minkler, A.W.Thies, A.II.I?eemink
and E. K. 5ciford.,
The minutes of the regular meeting of January 3rd. were read
and approved as corrected. The minutes of the Special meeting
of January 12th. were reap ana approved as reap.
The clerk read a letter from the hoard of iaucation of School
Dist. #f 406, suggesting the various fire aepts. in the dist.. co-
oddinate plans to protect the schools in the dist. in event of a
fire. The letter was directed to the fire chief who reportea
such a plan would be worked out.
A letter from Seattle councilman A.1- .Rochester,campaign di-
rector of the State Heart Association, was read. Mr. Louie E.
Mettler, president of the Tukwila Improvement Club was a )pointed
Chairman of the committee to take care of this matter.
H.B. #119,of the State of Washington was raad. It was :novel anti
carried that we go on record as approvin this bill. The Clerk was
instructed to draw up such a resolution.
A letter from Mr. Walkup was read, requesting the Town vacate
that portion of unimproved So.152nd. Street lying between lots
S '4 9 Interurban Addition to the City of Seattle in the Town of
Tukwila.. It was moved and carried the request be grantea and a
hearing be held at the Town Hall on March 7th.
Mr. Walkup reported a culvert closed as a result of the oper-
ation of the Tukwila quarry. Mr. Morgan, who was present,promised
to take care of this matter before a flood results.
Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid.

The Treasurer's report was read and accepted.
The report of the 'eater Dept. was read and placed on file.
Mr. Slade was given permission to get information about a
pipe finder.
Councilman Sciford reported a horn had been installed at the
Quarry to warn of a blast. Mr. Fouty reportea progress in work-
ing with the operatorsof the quarry.
Mr. Don Eggers requested the Town Marshall investigate cases
of house breaking in the Town. The Clerk was requested to write
Sheriff Calahan asking his deputies to patrol the Town at frequent
intervals.
Mr. Harding reported he had five(5 dogs now and expects to
soon have only four or less. bince sir. Harding is getting rid of
his dogs it was moved and carried to excuse him from paying the
license fee required.

Ordinance No.139 was palced on its second reading by title
only.. Upon motion, Ordinance No. 1E9 was placed on its third
reading and final passage.
It was moved and carried to increase the salary of the 'lerk-
Treas. to take effect in June. The Clerk was instructed to draw
up an Ordinance to this effect. The salary to be 4 r1QJ0.00 per mo.
The Clerk was asked to contact the State Highway Dept. request-
ing permission to install a red flash light on the Town aruck.
