CALL TO ORDER/ PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor McLeod called the Regular Meeting of e Tukwila City Council to order a 7 01 p m. and led the audience
in the Pledge of Allegiance
ROLL CALL
Jennifer Marshall, Deputy City Clerk, called the roll of the Council. Present at the meeting were Council President
Armen Papyan (on -site) and Councilmembers Verna Seal (virtual), Kate kruller (on -site), Dennis Martinez on -
site), Hannah Hedrick (on -site), Joe Torres, Camacho (on -site), and Jane Ho (on -site).

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Counolmember Ho stated "The City of Tukwila is located on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish people, We
acknowledge their continuing connections to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their elders past,.
present and emerging,"
PUBLIC COMMENTS
1. Robert Neuff“ asked for a traffic Ilight to be installed on Tukwila International Boulevard at S 140th Street,
complimented the Council for their conversation at the Work Session regarding homelessness, and spoke
about the current war.
Joe Duffle thanked Council passing the Ordinance for a moratorium for detention centers at the February
23 rd
Special meeting. H shared about past experiences being repressed and thanked Council for listening
and acting for those in similar positions today.
APPOINTMENTS
Appointments to IBoard: and Commissions
L Park Commission: Confir the appointment of Carl Lyons to Position on the Park Commission,
with a term expiring March 31, 2027,

POSITION #5 ON THE PARK COMMISSION WITH A TERM EXPIRING MARCH 31, 2027. MOTION CA " RIED

Code, thereby eliminating TMC Chapter 3.36; reenacting Chapter 3.36 to authorize acceptance of
donations and sponsorships.

REPORTS
a Mayor
Mayor McLeod atten ed a Sound Cities Association Board Retreat at the Seattle Seahawks Virgina Mason
Athletic Center (V-MAC), the Auburn State of the City event, and the 2nd Annual South Sound Police versus the
Fire Chanty Cup at the ShoWare Center, Ilile invited all to the grand opening of Pacifica Grill and ar and Foster
Golf Course March 6h at 6 00 p,m,
b. City Council
Councilmember Krulter attended meetings including the Southside Business Awards Night, Puget Sound
Regional Council (PRSC) orientation, and the Council on American -Islamic Relations (CAIR-WA) Community
Iftar at the Tukwila Community Center to recognize the start of Ramadan Mubarak,
Council President Papyan chaired his first Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) meetng which was the first
in -person meeting since 2020
Councilmember Martinez attended the South King Housing and Homelessness Partners (SKHHP) and the
Southside Business Awards Night. He also was able to meet individually with Fire Chief Jones,
Councilmember Hedrick attended the Employee Awards and was able to ride along with Police Department and
see the mental health providers at work, She attended her first South Side Alliance Seattle Southside Chamber
of Commerce meeting and the 2I'd Annual South Sound Police versus Puget Sound Fire Charity Cup at the
ShoWare Center where money was raised for the Tukwila Pantry.
Councilmember Camacho spoke in support of the City's ordinance recently passed for a moratorium for
detention centers and appreciated the engagement it sparked at Foster High School, He noted the increased
involvement from students wanting to make a difference in their community in a variety of ways He announced
the 2026 Seattle Regional Championships for Pokernon noting it will be a big draw to the region.
Councilmember Ho acknowiediged the Lunar New Year and her attendance at multiple events including the
Council on American Retations (CAIR-WA) Community Iftar and a celebration at the Consulate General Republic
of Korea to celebrate Independence movement Day.

MISCELLANEOUS
Councilmember artinez attended the 3rd Annual Iftar-Havdalah on February 28"' where he Kadima
Rizconstructionist Community and Interfaith Community Sanctuary met together
Councilmember Hedrick attended the 2026 Duwamish River Symposium on February 24' at the Tukwila
Community Center where knowledge and lessons learned from the initial habitat restorations were shared,
