HomeMy WebLinkAbout1949-08-01 Regular MinutesThe regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. O. Baker, at 3 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, Joe Aliment, A.W.Thies, Elmer Wootan and G.T.Jewell. The minutes of the meeting of July 5th. were read and approved as read. The Clerk read a letter from Mrs. Madeline Lemere, in which she thanked the Town Council for the use of Tukwila Park as a My Camp for the Girl Scouts. A letter from Lawrence Hubble,Chief Examiner, in answer to an inquiry from the Clerk concerning our Cumulative Reserve Ordinances,was read. He pointed out the portion of Ordinance No. 177 which does not conform with the State Statute. Joe Aliment reported on progress in flood control. A letter to Lewis H. Eggers relative to Self service gasoline station operation was read. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. Current Expense Seattle Times,Ad in paper ,fire dept. Lois T. Warren's Service,gas 011,July August 1,1949 The report of the water dept. was read and placed on file. Mr. Minkler reported 3 building permits issued in July. Upon motion, ordinance No.196 was placed on its first reading. It was decided the council meet,informally, on Aug.24 to prepare a tentative budget for 1950.
