The new Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to oreder by
the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker. Councilmen present were Stan L:inkler,
Joe Aliment,A.W.Thies,Elmer Wootam and G.T.Jewell.
Mayor Baker administered the oath of office to the recently
elected cpuncilmen,Stan Minkler,Joe Aliment and A.W.Thies.
A letter from the fire dept.,in which they stated the need for
a new fire truck, was read.. They suggested the people vote on the
proposal of a bond issue for the purchase of said truck. it was
moved and carried the Clerk prepare an Ordinance to authorize
placing this matter on the ballot.
Street needs were discussed and studied carefully. 'upon motion,
the Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for street improve-
ments as per specifications agreed upon. Bids to be opened at the
regular meeting of July 3rd.
Mr. Aliment reported on a meeting which he attended at Renton
where power problems were discussed.. It was decided to work with
the Renton City Council in the present power situation.. Stan
Minkler,Joe Aliment and A.V .Thies were appointed by Mayor Ba.ker
as a committee to attend meetings of the Renton City Council and
to confer with them in this matter.
