The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of•Tukwila
was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 8 P.M.
Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, Joe Aliment, A.W.Thies and
G.T.Jewell.
The minutes of the meeting of April 2 were read and approved
as corrected.
A letter from the Fire Department re their failure to furnish
specifications for the desired new alarm siren. It was moved and
carried an adjourned meeting be held on May 23 to accept and open
bids for this siren.
A letter, calling attention to the Annual Convention of the
Association of Washington Cities, was read. This Convention meets
in Seattle June 7 -9.
Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid.

The report of the Treasurer was read and accepted.
The report of the Water Dept. was read and placed on file.
Mr. Minkler reported 2 building permits issued in April.
The Council agreed to meet on May 15 to look over the Town
streets and decide on work to be done.
Mr Aliment reported work along the river to be taken up soon.
Mr. Slade reported only one company interested Irk submitting
a bid for the repair of the road damaged by navy trucks after the
plane crash. It was moved and carried to forward this information
to the Clachms Officer.

It was moved and carried Ordinance 79, the business ordinance,
be amended and brought up to date. The Mayor appointed Mr.Jewell,
Regel and Thies to work with Mr. Dibble,Police Judge, on this
ordinance.

Ordinance #205, an ordinance amending Ordinance #196, and
increasing the cost of the installation of meters to ',160.00, was„
by motion, placed on its first reading.
Joe Aliment, who has been a member of the Town Council for the
past five years, tendered his resignation. He stated this was necessary
since he has moved from the Town. With deep regret it was moved and
carried his resignation be accepted. The Clerk was instructed to
draw up a resolution expressing the thanks of the Town for Mr.
Aliment's splendid work while a member of the `'ouncil and regret
that he is resigning. Members of the Council were advised to bring
in nominations for a replacement to be voted upon at the June 4
meting.
Mr. Stephen Radnich,chairman of the committee representing
the Town Council on the School Advisory Board, was present and
reported on current events in school matters.
