HomeMy WebLinkAbout1951-06-04 Regular MinutesJune 4,1951 The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. Baker, at 8 p.m. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.W.Thies,and G.T.Jewell. The minutes of the meeting of May 7 were read and approved as read. The minutes of the adjourned meeting of May 23 were read and approved as read. The Council elected Mr. F.A.Grabner to fill the unexpired term of Joe Aliment, who found it necessary to resign. Mr.Grabner took the oath of office and was seated at the Council table. Resolution 78, a tribute to Joe Aliment, formerly a Town Councilman, was adopted by the Council. Res'.# 77,accep :ing the bid of L.N.Curtis Sons for an Alarm Siren, was also adopted. Don Pollock was present and answered questions regarding insurance coverage on buildings and equipment. It was moved and carried to take out additional coverage of X on the Fire Hall and $2000.00 additional on equipment in the Fire Hall. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. Mr. Minkler reported 2 building permits granted in May. It was moved and carried Mr. Minkler grant a permit to Mr.Radford when he presents a petition signed by neighbors interested. Mr. Minkler presented complaints made to him regarding the Seattle Rendering Works across the river from the Town. It was moved and carried the Clerk the County Commissioners in regards to this matter. Upon motion, Ord. #205 was placed on its second reading by title only.
