HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026-07-20 - Public Hearing - Moratorium for Correctional Institutions & Detention FacilitiesNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Tukwila City Council will hold a public hearing on the item listed below on Monday, July 20, 2026 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Tukwila City Hall, 6200 Southcenter Blvd., Tukwila, WA. The meeting will also be conducted virtually with remote public participation via telephone (253-292-9750, 670077847#) or online (Meeting Link: https://msteams.link/ 4). For Technical Support during the meeting call 1-206-433-7155. You may attend the public hearing in person and provide your comments on site. To provide public hearing comments remotely, please email CityClerk Tukwila a.gov. Provide your first and last name and reference the public hearing topic in the subject line, by 5:00 p.m. on July 20, 2026. Once you have signed up by email, your name will be called during the meeting to speak for up to five minutes. This hearing is being held to consider public comment and evidence on the subject of the 6-month moratorium on the change of use, establishment, expansion, or development of facilities for the detention, transportation, and food services for people detained by local, state, or federal law enforcement. This was adopted as Ordinance No. 2782 and will expire on August 23, 2026. For those unable to attend the meeting either on -site or remotely, you may submit written testimony to the City Clerk's office until 5:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
