1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:01PM
2. Roll Call
a. Board Members:
• Present: Cynthia Chesak, Crystal Lyons
• Online: Marie Parrish, Gerie Ventura, Robin Boland, Holly Smith, Steve Miller
b. Staff:
• City of Tukwila Staff: John Dunn, Recreation Superintendent
• King County Library System Staff: Steven Bailey, Library Services Manager;
3. Land Acknowledgement - Gerie Ventura read the land acknowledgement:
"The City of Tukwila is located on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish people. We acknowledge their
continuing connections to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their elders past, present
and emerging."
4. Approval of Agenda and Minutes - March 3, 2026
a. Agenda: Crystal Lyons motioned to approve the agenda. Marie Parrish seconded the motion to
approve the agenda; all were in favor.
b. Minutes: Crystal Lyons motioned to approve the minutes. Marie Parrish seconded the motion to
approve the minutes; all were in favor.
5. Public Comment: No public comments
6. Unfinished Business
a. Standing Item: '26 goals review - The board reviewed the goals and discussed.
b. 2025 year-end report - No update, will be added to next agenda.
c. New ideas for support activities - The board discussed new ideas such as a teen author, Dr.
Seuss event or joining a KCLS event.
7. New Business
a. KCLS Guest Speaker- Guest was unable to make the meeting. Will reschedule for another time.
8. Staff Reports
a. KCLS: Staff provided updates on the upcoming activities at the library.
b. City of Tukwila: John Dunn provided an update on City and Parks and Recreation events,
programs and other information.

a. Crystal Lyons announced that she is moving out of area by the end of May and this will be her
last meeting.
