HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-05-05 Regular MinutesMay 5,1952 The regular meeting of the Town LIouncil of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor, Chas.O. Baker, at 8 p.m. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.W.Thies, G.T.Jewell, fit. W Tlairets, Rudolf W. Regel and A.G.Radford. The minutes of the meeting of April 7 were read and approved as read. The minutes of the Special meeting of April 15 were read and approved as read. Mr. Baker reported for Mrs. Baker on the Red Cross drive recent- ly completed, stating the Red Cross thanked the Town of Tukwila for outstanding achievement in contributions. Mrs. Baker thanked the ladies who helped in the drive. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. Current Expense L.N.Curtis Sond, equipment for Marshal's car 50.33 Pacific Tel.& Tel. The report of the Police Court was read and accepted. The report of the Water Dept. was read and placed on file. The Water committee reported progress in locating leak in water mains. It was suggested a 2 inch meter be installed on either side of the river to discover location of leaks. It was moved and carried to inforce water collection as stated on the face of the bills, stating it is by order of the Water committee. Mr. Minkler reported 3 Building permits issued in Apr. Mr. Regel reported the Firemen's Auxiliary were raising funds to buy an inhalator. Mr. Radford reported progress on New School building. 1 May 5,1952( continued) It was moved and carried to advertise for bids for street improvements.. The street committee advised to meet on May 7 to draw up the necessary specifications for this work. Upon motion, Resolution 32, in which the Town of Tukwila enters into a contract with the Puget Sound Power Light Co. to maintain a municipal street light at the bus stop, was adopted. Upon motion, Resolution 33, authorizing the Peoples National Bank of Washington, in Seattle, Wash. to be the deposit- ory for funds of the Tukwila Police Court, was adopted.
