HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-06-02 Regular MinutesJune 2,1952 The regular meeting of the Town council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. C. Baker, at 8 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.W.Thies, G.T.Jewell, Rudolf W. Regel and A.G.Radford. Four bids for Street Improvements were received and opened. The following companies submitted bids. United Paving Company,P.a. Box 1017, Edmonds, Wash.; Western Asphalt Company, 309 W. 39th., Seattle, Wash.; Seaboard Paving Engineering Company, 7346 -11th. N.E., Seattle, Wash. and Diesel Oil Sales Company, 2155 l'orthlake, Seattle, Wash. The bid of the Seaboard Paving and Engineering Company,meeting best the requirements set forth in the call for bids was accepted. Their total bid was 3152.00. It was moved and carried this bid be accepted and the bid of United Paving Company be awarded the contract should the Seaboard Paving and Engineering company fail to do the proposed work. The minutes of the meeting of May 5 were read and approved as read. Current' bills were read and upon motion oddered paid. Slade, salary May overtime The report of the Police Court was read and accepted. The report of the Water Dept. was read and pIacedi-dn file. Mr. Minkler reported 3 building permits issued in May. Mr. Jewell reported on flood control. Mr. Radford and Mr. Regel reported on progress of new school. Upon motion, This Plat was approved, subject to statement of facts by Forest G. King, registered Land Surveyor, State of Washington, and also subject to actual survey. 5 June 2,1952(continued) The new Council was called to order by the Mayor, CLas.O.Baker, who administered the oath of office Stan Minkler, A.W.Thies and A.G.Radford the newly elected Councilmen. Resolution No.85, a resolution urging the Assoc. of Washington Cities to recommend to the State Legislature the enactment of a law enabling cities of the 2nd 3rd."" 4th. class to secure property for parking facilities, was adopted.
