The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila
was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 3 P.M.
Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.W.Thies, G.T.Jewell, Rudolf
W. Regel and A.G.Radford.
Bids for the labor of replacing the water main across the
Duwamish river were opened. Henry Finch, 4006 California Ave.,Seattle
Wash., presented bid e& 37 This was for labor and cast iron
pipe. Geo. N: �l presentee a bid of „1i,350, for labor only.
The bid of Gep. N. Reiter, meeting best the requirements set forth in
the bid call, was accepted.
The minutes of the meeting of July 7 were read and approved as
read. The minutes of the special meeting of July 24 were read and
approved as read. The minutes of the special meeting of July 30 were
read and approved as read.
A letter from the Pu et Sound Title Insurance Co. re water assess-
ments against the west of Lot 10, Block 5, Hillman's Seattle Garden
Tracts, was read.. Since this property was a tax foreclosure they elect-
ed to not pay the assessment.
Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid.

Upon motion, Ord. #216, am ordinance declaring an emergency and
placing 12000.00 of water funds in the budget for the replacing of
the water main across the Duwamidh river, was placed on its first
reading.
The report of the Police Court was read and accepted.
The report of the water dept. was read and placed on file.
It was moved and carried to accept the bid of Louis "einz to
roof the west half of the fire hall and dormer, labor only. The bid
price was 3.00 per square, the fire dept. to decide on the color.
It was moved and carried to accept Mayor Baker's proposed budget
for 1953.
Meeting adjourned at 9 :50.
