The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila
was called to order by the mayor, Chas. G. Baker, at 8 P.M.
Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.W.Thies, Rudolf Regel, A.G.
Radford and D.F.Hartley.
The minutes of the meeting of December 1, 1952 were read and
approved as read.
Current bills were read and, upon motion, ordered paid.

The report of the Water Dept. was read and placed on file.
Mr. Minkler reported one building permit issued in December. He
also reported he and Mr. Thies and Mr. Radford examined a house at
14233 -57 S.,owned by H.A.Deer which they found unsafe. He reported
he so informed Mr. Beer by letter, stating it must be made safe by
Jan.15, 1953.

Mr. Regel referred Fire dept. matters to Mr. Don Leahy,Fire Chief,
who was present. Mr. Leahy reported he had met with Mr. Jay Thomas,
King County Fire Marshal, and discussed with him a possible ordinance
governing oil burning equipment and related subjects. Mr. Leahy pro-
mised a further report later.
The Clerk read a letter from the Fire dept. in which they requested
the approval of the Council for the use of the Marshal's Police car
as an emergency car for the Fire dept. It was moved and carried this
request be granted.
The matter of the buildings in the Park was discussed at length.
Mr. Slade was instructed to contact someone who could tear down the
buildings specified. The Mayor appointed Mr. Radford to work with
any one interested in putting up buildings in the Park. In addition
he appointed three citizens of Tukwila, Mrs. Carl Lundberg, Mrs..
Myron Slade and Mrs. Kenneth Reed.
Upon motion,
Ordinance No. 221, an ordinance relating to the Town Marshal,
was placed on its second reading by title only. Upon motion, Ord.
No.221 was placed on its third reading and final passage.
The Clerk was instructed to draw up an ordinance establishing
the salary of the Clerk Treas.
Meeting adjourned at 9:45.
