HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-07-06 Regular MinutesJuly 6, 1953 The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 7:30 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.W.Thies, A and Melvin Watkins. One bid was received for labor materials for Street Improvements in the Town of Tukwila. The bid of Northwest Precote Inc.,meeting the requirements set forth in the call for bids, was accepped. Their total bid was 0_981.25. The minutes of the meeting of June 1st. were read and approv- ed as read. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. Current Expense Pacific Tel.& Tel. Co.,phone fire dept. Slade, sal.June overtime 171.52 51 At 3 P.M. the bids on Fire truck were received and opened. Those submitting bids were L.N.Curtis Sons, Howard Cooper Corp. and Nelson Equipment Co. In as much as the bids for the fire truclj needed careful consideration it was moved and carried to take up these bids at an adjourned meeting of Council on July 13, 1953 at 7 :30 P.M. The Treasurer's report was read and accepted. The report of the water dept. was read and placed on file. Mr. Minkler reported one building permit issued in June. Mr. tSouglas Henderson was present and explained why the build he is erecting is not yet completed. It was moved and carried an extension until Aug. 3rd. be given him. To which he agreed. Mr. Minkler reported a resident on east side of highway is collected and storing junk in his yard. The Clerk was asked to write a letter to the man concerned, Mr. Virgil Waldon, requesting he immediately discontinue bringing in junk and scrap to his yard. Mr. Minkler was asked to investigate further and bring in a repot. Meeting recessed at 10 :10 P.M. to mee in an adjourned meeting July 13 at 7 :30 P.M.
