HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-09-03 Regular MinutesSeptember 3, 1953 The regular meeting of the 'Tukwila '-own Council was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 3 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan iā– iinkler, Rudolf hegel, A.G.Radford and Melvin Watkins. The minutes of the meeting of August 3rd. and of the Special meeting of August 6th. were read and approved as read. The report of the Treasurer was read and accepted. The report of the Water Dept. was read and placed on file. Mr. Minkler reported 1 building permit issued in August. The Clerk was asled to contact the owner of a basement build- ing on 57th. 5. near S. 142nd. which the Council considers a haz- ard requesting the building be either removed or the door and wind- ows be securely boarded up. St. It was moved and carried his request be granted. The Council was informed there were new tenants in the Town Hall who would answer Fire calls. Mr. Bryan renewed his request to bring into Town several units of Thrifty Byilt Homes He had previously made his request for a permit. The Council explained they had examined these units and found thelyi did not meet the requirements of the Tukwila building Code. They further explained they had, on Aug. 6, 1953, refused permission to Mr. Timmoms to move in similar knits and were obliged to abide by the Tukwila Building Ordinance. His request was refueled. t 59 6epteinber 3, 1953(continued) Ordinance No. 224, the Budget for 1954, was, upon motion, placed on its first reading. Mr. Baker announced the eptember meeting of the Assoc. of Valley Cities would be held at the Foster Golf Club Mouse on the 23rd. of the month with Tukwila as host. Meting adjourned at 10 :35. Chas.
