The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to order
by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 3 P.:i. Councilmen present were Stan
Minkler, A.W.Thies, Audolf Hegel, A.G.Radford and idelvin Watkins.
The minutes of the meeting of Sept. 3 were read and approhed as read.
Current billd were read and upon motion ordered paid.

The report of the Treasurer was read and accepted.
The report of the Water dept. was read and placed on file.
Mr. Minkler reported one building permit issued in Sept.
The Clerk was asked to write another letter to Delmar Ulson,regarding
the basement building on 57th. S. near S. 142nd. St.,requesting he either
board up the windows and door or take down the building.
Mr. Minkler presented the request of Mr. Harold Waltz for a permit to
build a green house on his property at the corner of 53th. Ave. S.
S. 144th., with the request was submitted the signatures of adjacent and
near property owners who had no objection to such a building. It was
moved and carried this permit be granted and that should wr. Waltz apply
for a Business permit to sell flowers and plants his requested should
also ,be granted.
The Fire Dept. recommended Mr. henry Smith be appointed Heating Inspecto
This recommendation was, by motion, approved by the Council.

Ordinance No.224, the Budget for the year 1954, was, upon motion,
placed on its second reading, by title only. Upon motion, Ordinence
No. 224 was placed on its third reading and final passage..
It was moved and carried a letter of thanks be sent to Er. Joe
Aliment for his gracious hospitality in entertaining for the Tukwila
Council when they were hosts to the Association of Valley 'ities.
Mr. Bryan repeated his request for permission to move sub- standard
housing units into Town. members of the Council again stated their
intention to abide by the requirements of the Tukwila Building Code and
denied his request. Mr. Bryan was told that if he could present to the
Council a petition, signed by 60ip of the registered voters, requesting
the repeal of the Building Code, Ordinance 1+ the Council would bow
to the wishes of the majority.
