The minutes of the meeting of December 7, 1953 were read and approved as read. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. Co. was willing to ,lake an adjustment on the new type meters which are proving unsatisfactory. He reported they were willing to replace the cast iron bases with bronze bases, together with the necessary bolts and gaskets. Minkler reported 1 building permit issued in Dec. 7 3 Mrs. 'Aobt Leahy erntered a complaint against the atheny z: Bacon Co. for lumber being thrown on property of Iiemstedts.T.ayor Laker appointed Radford and Mr. Hegel together with I'.Ir. iinkler to investigate. They were given authority to take the necessary action to stop the trespass- ing and enforce the Building Oocie. This co..rnlittee were asked to also investigate the trailer which is being used as a dwelling. 75 January 4, 1954(continued) Mac Allan complained of cars parked improperly, on the Highway and streets. The Council stated they were trying; to correct this situation. .Ir. Thies reported Itlrs. Bow, who had complained of an unsanitary condition on property adjacent to her, sugrested nothing could be done to correct this situation as long as flood conditions prevailed. Mr. Watkins reported they expected to have the new Fire truck tiy the middle of 'anuary. The Street committee reported no progress in discovering ownership of property Mr. Crostick had suggested be added to widen the street near his property. They reported it would be difficult to widen the stre.,t at that point. A letter from Iir. McGinness, Deputy iiarshal, requesting a leave of absence, was read. hlr. LlcGinness had been obliged by circumstances to work for a few months outside this area. It was moved and carried hid request be granted. Pair. Hegel and Mr. Radford were excused to attend a School board meeting. Mr. Minkler presented ;;ir. Lrnest Iieinz to the Council and suggested he be appointed Deputy Marshal and Assistant Police Officer until the return of 1.Ir. L cLinness.;•:iayor stated his desire to make this a-, ,ointment.
