The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to
order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Laker, at 3 i.::. Councilmen present were
Stan Minkler, August Thies, Rudolf ReF;el, A.G.Radford and Melvin
Watkins.

The minutes of the meeting of March 1 were read and approved as read.
The Clerk read a letter frori Mrs boy Latimer, in which she thanked
the Town Council for remembering hr. Latimer in the adoption of rtes.

A letter from kalph.Stacy; County l eyes oV,regarding tax on Trailers,
was read. Mr. Stacy stated that trailers .gust pay the toad Tax, in
order to take trailers on the highways, and that no other tax is
required. mayor baker and members of the Council agreed that this
is a very unfair situation, since trailers are dwellings for many
families, who enjoy many privileges, among which are public schools,
without paying a personal property tax. The Council suggested this
matter be taken up at a future meeting of the Association of Valley
Cities. They also suggested it be brought to ttie attention of the
committee planning the agenda for the Annual Convention of the
Association of Washington Cities, meeting at Spokane June 10 and 11.
By motion, Ordinance No.227, an ordinance authorizing the Town of
Tukwila to purchase, from the County, a portion of Lot 10, Llock 4,
Fillman's Seattle Garden Tracts, to be dedicated as an extension of
a right -of -way, was placed on its first reading. By motion, Ord. rr227
was placed on its second reading, by title only. Ly motion, Ord./7'227
was placed on its third reading and final passage.

Slade introduced ,ir. iobt. 1e11am, representing the i3ad"er
Meter laanuf. Co., who showed the members of the Council a meter which
his Firm makes and sells. Uouncil was favorably impressed.
Mr. I,iinkler reported 9 )uilding per:iits issued in .:arch.

Mr. Alger, who had moved his house trailer onto a lot at 15447
62nd. Ave. S., asked to be allowed to remain there. The Gouncil
informed hint a Town Ordinance forbade trailers being useu as dwellings.
He said he would remove the trailer before April 20.
Air. Laker acknowledged receipt of a letter fro_i the `,omen's Aux-
iliary to the Fire Deot thanking, Town Offiuials for purchasing the
new -Vire Truck. The Council professed themselves happy to be able to
do this for the Town.
One bid only was received to buy the American LaFrance Lire Truck.
The bid was submitted by Denis 0. Brown and was for ,.25.00. It was moved
ana carried this bid be rejected. The Piro Chief was instructed to
negotiate a sale for sale.
Wynn Anderson of Tukwila requested subai visioh of Tract 17, Inter-
urban Tracts. It was :moved and carriea his request be granted. The
plat was filed with the Town Clerk.
Chas. 0. raker also requested subdivision of Tract 41 and =2,Drookvale
Garden Tracts, according to plats filed with Town Clerk. It was moved
and carried his request be granted.
Crostick
Lawrence/inquired concerning widening of 5G P1. 5. The Street
committee were asked to check on possibilities and cost.
Ernest Heinz brought up questions concerning method of replacing
path destroyed beside his House. It was wove and carried to leave tiLis
to the discretion of the Street comliitteo.
