HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-05-02 Regular MinutesMay 2, 1955 The regular meeting of_the Tukwila Town Council was called to order by Councilman Stan l 'iinkler, who presided in the absence of Mayor Chas. 0. Baker, who is on vacation. Councilmen present, in addition to Mr. Minkler were August Thies, Rudeolf Hegel, A.G. Radford and Melvin Watkins. The minutes of the April 4 meeting were read and approved as read. The Annual Convention of the Assoc. of Washington Cities, to be held in Tacoma on June 9 10, was noted. It was moved and carried X50.00 for delegate expenses be allowed. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. Current Expense Pacific Tel. Tel. Co., phone fire dept. Oil Co., gas supplies March 10.03 The report of the water dept. was read and placed on file. Mr. Minkler reported 4 Building permits issued in April. He also reported the County Health Dept. had suggested the Town adopt an ordinance governing live stock.The Clerk was asked to secure copies of such ordinances from the Bureau of Governmental Research. Representatives of the Fire dept. brought up the matter of tree branches that overhang the roads which are a menace to the men rideing the fire truck. It was suggested the fire dept, send out letters to residents in whose yards these trees are growing. The matter of chimneys was also brought up and whether there could be exceptions for green houses. The report of Police Court was read. LIr. Naylor reported N2161.G0 received so far this year. Mr. Regel called attention to the board walk between 56 S. 57 S. near S. 142nd. St. with the request it be repaired. There was some discussion regarding building a fire place in the Park, which matter was left to i +ir. 2epp. An inquiry from Harold Lee of Renton was read in which he request- ed a water service form our water vain near Beacn rive. It was moved and carried his request be granted, with the understanding he bear all the expense and confer with Mr. Zepp and be governed by his advise i all matters.
