HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-12-05 Regular MinutesDecember 5, 1955 The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 3 p.m. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, Rudolf Regel, A.G.Radford and Melvin Watkins. The minutes of the meeting of Nov. 7 were read and approved as read. Mr. Baker read a letter regarding nominating procedure. It was decided it was too near election time to make a change this year. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. It was moved and carried the Clerk cancell a check for 10.00, No. 4570, issued and sent to the Assoc. of Valley Cities, for pay- ment of dues Oct.4, 1954. The check has apparently been lost. The report of the Treasurer was read and accepted. The report of the Water Dept. was read and placed on file. Since the Police dept. is in need of a new car it was moved and carried to advertise for bids on same to be opened at the Jan. meeting. Upon motion Ord. No. 232, an ordinance regarding livestock, small animals and fowl, was placed on its first reading. Upon motion, ord. No. 233, a salary ordinance for 1956, was played on its first reading. 137 Upom motion, Resolution No. 93, recommended by the State Examiner that we drop the Investment Fund of w1, 400.00 and transfer cash assets and future renittences to the Current Expense Fund, was adopted. Mr. Baker announced the caucus to be held on January 3,1956, at 7 :30 p.m. Notice was taken of the improvement made by Mr. Robt. Johnson in cleaning dirt and brush along his property. It was suggested a letter be sent hdim commending him for this. Mr. Chas. Rubert presented billd for work on the Town hall and requested a water heater.
