The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to
order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 8 p.m. Councilmen present
were Stan Minkler, Rudolf Hegel, A.G.Radford, Melvin Watkins and
Wynn Anderson.
The minutes of the meeting of May 6 were read and approved as
read.
Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid.

The report of the Treasurer was read and accepted.
The report of the Water dept. was read and placed on file.
Mr. Minkler reported 3 building permits issued in May.
A committee from Council reported they had inspected property
on Interurban Ave. S., owned by 1\Ir. Peltier and agreed it was
suitable for business or industrial use only.
Mr. Bergstrom reported he had been informed it would be necessary
for the Town of Tukwila to sign a contract with the King Uounty
Library Board in order to receive library service and the expense
would probably about 2 mi. per year. It was moved and carried to
submit this proposition, whether or not to set aside 2 mi each year
for County Library service, to the vote of the people, to be placed
on the ballot at the next Town election.
A request was presented from Helen Walkup, Tukwila Post Master,
for permission to erect a 15 ft. flag pole in front of the Post Office
on the curb. By motion permission was granted.
Announcement was made of a work meeting on June 17, at 8 p.m.
Mrs. Chas. Baker was present, in her wheel chair, and thanked
the Council and those present for their kindness to her since her
accident.
Mayor Baker announced that on June 8th. we enter the 50th. year
as a Town. He read a letter addressed to Mr. Al Cummings, a radio
announcer, and signed by the mayor and Uouncilmen, in which he
appointed u'r. Cummings the Honorary President of the Tukwila Chamber
of Commerce. Mr. Baker also read a paper briefly calling attention
to the 50 year milepost in the history of the town. Both communications
to be forwarded to Mr. Cummings.
