The continuation of the Hearing on the annexation was called to
order by the mayor, Chas. O. Baker, at 3 p.m. Councilmen present were
Stan Minkler, Rudolf Regel, A.G.Radford and Wynn Anderson.
Mr. Baker asked if there were any forth r protests, there being
none he recognized Mr. Bill Alimei P ai�"nman of the Annexation
Committee, who reporfed:,that he had reviewed the protests received at
the Public hearing on the annexation and recommended that the property
lying westerly of State Highway No. 5 m and northerly of the Southerly
line of South 137th Street and its projection to the southeast be ex-
cluded.
Mr. Holm, attorney for the group desiring to be excluded, said
his clints were satisfied with this recommendation.
Mr. Minkler statadthat after considering the protests received
at the Public hearing on the petition for annexation ff property and
the recommendation of the Annexation Committee he moved that the
property lying westerly of State Highway No. 5 m and northerly of the
southerly line of South 137th Street and its projection to the south-
east be excluded and that the balance of the property included in staid
petition be annexed effective as of midnight September 30, 1957. Mr.
Regel seconded the motion and it was carried.
Anderson
Mr. minkler then moved and Mr. seconded the motion that
Ordinance 244 An Ordinance annexing property to the Town of Tukwila,
be placed on its first reading. 14Lotion carried. Mr. Holm thanked the
Council for their consideration.
A letter from Mayor Clinton, of Seattle, was noted. He urged all
Council officials toattend a meeting on Sept. 16, at Lellevue, to
discuss the Metro Plan.
A letter from Mr. Paul Seibert, represenying Frederick B. Baker
Associates who are taking care of Public Relations for the Port of
Seattle, suggested Oct. 16, at a p.m. as a meeting date of Port
Officials and Tukwila Council members together with our attorney Mr.
John Dobsob. The meeting to be held in Tukwila Town Hall. The date was
considered agreeable and the Clerk was directed to so inform Mr. Seibert
Mrs. Ronald Doyle asked permission of the Council to use the
Council room 3 days a week for a preschool project of mothers and
children, with no expense to the Town. It was moved and carried the
request be granted.
Meeting recessed at 3:40 to meet on Sept. 23, at 3 p.m.
