January 20, 1958
The recessed meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to
order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 8 P.. Councilmen present
were Stan Minkler, Rudolf Regel, A.G.Radford, Melvin Watkins and
Wynn Anderson.
Mr. Baker read an article prepared by Mr. Doyle answering an
article appearing recently in the Renton News Record.
Upon motion ordinance No. 255, an ordinance annexing property to
the Town of Tukwila, was placed on its second reading by title only.
By motion ordinance No. 255 was placed on its third reading and final
passage.

Ordinance loo. 253, an ordinance amending Ordinance go. 251 was,
upon motion placed on its third reading and final passage.
Application for a Business License was requested by Don Hofstra.
It was referred to the committee considering such applications.
Stan Minkler stated the members of the Council had been considering
the Uniform building Code put out by the Pacific Coast Building
Officials Conference. He moved the Town apply for membership in this
Conference, seconded and carried.
Mr. Minkler moved we purchase 7 copies of Volume 1, 1958 Edition
of the Uniform Building Code and 1 copy of Volume 3, 1958 Edition,
seconded and carried. The Clerk was advised to prepare an ordinance
adopting the Code.
A letter from Mr. Steve Tyson was read in which he declined to
serve on the committee appointed by Mr. Baker to work on the pro-
posal of the King Bounty Library Board. Mayor Baker accepted the
refusal and appointed Mrs. Marie Gardner to replace Jlr Tyson.
There was some discussion it was decided that those who were most
anxious to secure Library service were not willing to work for it.
It was moved and carried we drop the matter of such service for the
present.
