Councilmen present were Stan ilinkler, Rudolf Hegel, A. G. Radford, melvin Watkins and Wynn Anderson Minutes of the rmeetingscbf- February. ,10,17 and 24 were read and approved as read. Mayor baker read a letter received from Governor Rosellini which was an answer to a letter sent by town officials suggesting that one of the State ferries be named Tukwila. The Governor mentioned the request and explained the methods of choosing names for the ferries. Re sent his best wishes for the future progress of the Town of Tukwila. Current bills were read and upon motion ordered paid. The report of the Water Lept. was read and placed on file. Mr. I,iinkler reported 2 Luilding permits issued in February. Mr. ltiaylor, t'olice Judge, reported on three traffic incidents occuring in February. On Saturday night, Feb, 15, 1958, a car hit a ditch across the highway from the Signal Gas station at approximately 51st. Ave. So. The driver of the car was hit by a second vehicle while he was cross- ing Interurban nve. So. for help. Ile was hospitalized. 'Ido names available. The State Patrol handled this, no record of citation. On Feb. 19 at 5 :10 A.M. a 1955 Dodge crossed to the wrong side of Interurban Ave. So., heading north and hit a light pole at So. 143rd P1. The driver was Lawrence Gaspard, one man was sent to the hospital. No record of citation. On Feb. 26 a vehicle southbound driven by Robert Crawford of 306 union 5 t., Seattle, crossed over to the wrong side at So. 144th interurban Ave. So., left the road, hit several boulders, traveled 300 feet and flipped over. Crawford was thrown out of the car and injured gravely. Mr. Naylor reported he had received zany calls objecting to the 35 M.P.H.regulation on So. 154th. Mr. Radford reported working with 'ounty Engineers on roads, and would continue studying the problem. kr. Anderson reported progress on new Business prdinance. It was suggested no action be taken on present appliaations until new ordinance is adopted. Mr. Baker appointed Mr. Anderson Chairman in charge of taking the 1958 Census.
