HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-03-17 Adjourned Minutes March 17, 1953 The recessed meeting of March 3, 1953 was called to order by the Mayor, Chas. 0. Baker, at 3 p.m. Councilmen present were Stan kinkier, Rudolf Regel, A. G. Radford, Melvin Watkins and Wynn Anderson. Ronald Doyle and Lawrence Frese recently elected Councilmen on March 11 were asked to sit at the Council Table. Mayor Baker stated the votes had been quite equally divided be- tween the candidates. He thanked Mr. Hegel and Mr. Watkins for their Good records. Mr. Radford, member of the Tukwila Planning Uommission read a letter from the Planning Uommission in which they stated at the request of property owners in the annexed area, known as the Codiga property, a public hearing had been held on March 6, 1958, to consider a request for zoning. Members of the Planning Commission adopted the following recommendation: The Tukwila Planning Uommission recommends to the Tukwila Town Council that the afore described property be accorded M -1 zoning as requested by property owners within the area." Mr. &inkier moved that the recommendation of the Planning Com- mission be considered, that the request of the property owners in the area described be granted anf the property be zoned M seconded by Mr. Anderson and carried. Mr. Radford read a letter from the Planning Commission stating that on March 13, 1958 a hearing was held to consider zoning of land recently annexed to Tukwila and further described. At this hearing members of the Planning 'ommission adopted the following recommendation: "The Tukwila Planning Commission recommends to the Tukwila Town Council that the afore descrobed property be zoned as follows: That portion of the property bounded on the west by the Green River and on the east by Secondary State Highway No. 5 -M be zoned C -M; and the balance of the pro- perty, all East of Secondary State Highway No. 5 M, be zoned M -1." Mr. iinkler moved that the recommendation of the Planning Com- mission be considered, that the request of the property owners be granted and the property be zoned as requested; seconded by iir. Anderson and carried. Recommendations for changes in speeds allowed on So. 154th and Interutban Ave. So., as drawn up by Mr. l 'laylor, were discussed. Mayor Daker announced he was appointing Mr.Ernest Heinz as Deputy Marshal to replace James Mcvinness who is resigning as of April 1st. It was moved and carried the Council approve this appointment. Mayor Baker administered the oath of office to Mr. heinz. Mr. Aliment, Fire Chief suggested new cards with changed phone numbers for fire phone and numbers of Town officials.
