July 15, 1953
The recessed meeting of July 15 was called to order by the mayor,
Chas. 0. Baker, at S p.m. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A. G.
Radford, R. K. Doyle and L. R. Frese. John Dobson, attorney, was also
present.
Earl Naylor,/Police Judge, presented a request, signed by residents
residing near 57th Ave. So., that streets mentioned in the request be
posted to limit vehicle speed not to exceed 25 miles per hour and that
this rate of speed be enforced to the best capabilities og the Tukwila
police. It was moved aid carried that this request be granted and that
the Town Marshal be advised that the streets mentioned be so posted and
the speed limit be enforced.
Mr. Wni. Morton, Consulting for the South Seattle Water Company
talked with the Council regarding water lines extending into Tukwila.
Mr. Nelson, Miss Nelson and Mr. Jorgensen of the independent TJater
Co. arrived but have not yet resolved the problems of their Company.
Meeting reeessed at 9 :45 to meet on July 23 at 3 p.m.
On July 28, at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Beath, Supt. of Seattle
vgater dept. and Mr. Allen, As s'nt Supt. talked
informally with `'ouncil regarding change in July 23, 1953
water rates.
The recessed meeting was called to ortder by the Mayor, Chas. G. Baker,
at 8 p.m. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A. G. Radford, Wynn
Anderson, R. K. Doylw and L. R. Frese.
Water problems were discussed. The owners of the Independent Water
Co. were not present.
Mr. Radford reported reac}j.ing an agreement with ping County Commissioners
regarding resurfacing 53rd Ave. So. It was moved and carried we join with
King County providing pur share which will be 1100.00, King County
surfacing 53rd Avenue South from South 154 to south 162nd Street he first 150' from S.
154th to be asphaltic concrete and the balance light bituminoue.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30.
