August 11, 1953
The recessed meeting of August 11 was called to order by the Mayor
Chas. 0. Baker, at 8 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan .Y'inkler, A.G.
Radford, Wynn Anderson, Lawrence Prose and Ronald Doyle. Town attorney
John Dobson, was also present.
A request by Mrs. Main to operate a Barber whop in the building
also occupied by the White house Cafe was presented. By motion the
requested was granted.
A complaint was received from Mr. smith of the Northern Pacific
Railway, regarding a tall tree on the Foster Lrolf Lourse, 40 or 50
feet from the railway right of way. Mr. Dobson was asked to write to
Mr. Smith, mentioning that the tree was on private property and the
owners gave him permission to remove the tree if he felt it was a
hazard.
Mr. Nelson and Mr. Jorgensen of the Independent dater Co. talked
with the Council regarding the problems still remaining in said
Company. It was moved and carried tha Mayor and Clerk be granted
authority to execute an agreement with the Independent Water Co. for
the purchase of said company, also authority to sign the statement to
the Public Service Commission, regarding water rates and meter charges.
Meeting adjourned at 9 :25.
